The 5th edition of the KGL Foundation Inter-regional U-17 Colts Championship will be officially launched on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the KGL House in Labone, Accra.
The event will bring together key figures in Ghana football, including GFA President Kurt Okraku, members of the Executive Council, and senior officials from the KGL Foundation. Also expected are the Chairmen of the ten Regional Football Associations (RFAs), representatives from colts clubs, and other stakeholders.
Initiated in 2021, the championship is designed to support youth development, talent discovery, and regional cohesion through football. Over the years, it has produced notable performances from regional teams, with the Ashanti Region making history in 2023 as the first region to win the title.
Western Region are the defending champions, having defeated Eastern Region 2-1 in the 2024 final at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
This year’s edition will follow the same structure, with each region fielding a team selected from their respective colts competitions.
The championship has become a key platform for unearthing emerging talent and nurturing them through the developmental stages of Ghanaian football.
